Immigrant Soup was the vision of Dog Can Hunt founder, Larry Lipson and his wife, Julieta, an exceptional chef and immigrant from Santiago, Chile. Julieta originally learned how to make Cazuela, a Chilean comfort food made with beef, chicken, corn, rice and potatoes, from her grandmother. From the Mexican albondigas soup to the Jewish matzo ball soup, Immigrant Soup celebrates flavors that have been handed down for centuries and recipes that have been packed up and carried across oceans by mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers from countries from around the world.
